Infection Control: Appropriate Guidelines for Healthcare Mobile Devices and Healthcare Professionals
Long-term care facilities across the country are struggling every day to keep Sars-CoV-2 out of their facilities. Due to the overwhelming number of infections that have occurred in facilities, infection prevention and control has catapulted to the forefront of The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid’s (CMS) agenda. By July 31, 2020, 100% of nursing homes will have a targeted infection control survey completed. Failure to meet the infection control standards during this survey will receive a civil monetary penalty of $5,000 to $15,000 based on the scope and prior infection control deficiencies.
This session will highlight two major facets affecting facility infection control:
The major gaps in hardware being used in nursing homes, and
How we as healthcare professionals can increase precautions to protect ourselves and others during our current crisis.
